Teak Maintenance & Cleaning – Tips and Product Advice from Beach7

Teak is a beautiful, natural material known for its durability and weather resistance. But to enjoy the warm look and quality of your teak garden furniture for years to come, it's important to treat it properly. With the maintenance products from the Beach7 teak line, you can keep your teak furniture clean, protected, and beautifully colored.

Teakshield – Protection against dirt and stains

Before using a new teak table or chair, treat it with Teakshield . This protective layer makes the wood water- and dirt-repellent and helps prevent stains from things like food and drinks.

It also protects wood from moisture and rain, preventing the teak from becoming dirty and grimy, and from developing a green scum. This keeps your teak's beautiful patina gray for longer. If you want to preserve the brown color of your teak, you should first treat your furniture with Teak Protector or Vintage Teak Protector, and then apply Teak Shield.

Repeat this treatment after about 4 weeks and then periodically, depending on the weather conditions and the use of your furniture.

Instructions for use:

1. Wear protective gloves and eye protection and cover the surface of your work area before starting.

2. First clean new teak with our Teak Cleaner (or leave the furniture outside for a week before starting the treatment).

3. Old dark gray teak: First clean it with TEAK CLEANER. If the cleaned teak feels rough, lightly sand it before applying TEAK SHIELD.

4. Make sure the teak is 100% dry and dust-free.

5. Shake TEAK SHIELD well for at least 1 minute before use, apply a thin layer of Teak Shield with a soft, lint-free cloth.

6. Let the TEAK SHIELD dry for 4 hours and apply a second thin coat. Let the teak dry for 48 hours before exposing it to the elements.

7. We recommend treating the teak with TEAK SHIELD at least once a year. Tabletops should be treated more often.
